Kyusho-jitsu

Kyusho-jitsu (also spelled "Kyusho jutsu") is the ancient art of attacking kyusho, or pressure points, on the human body. Entailing a devoted study of human anatomy, neurology, vascular functions, energetics, and much more, this method of personal protection requires a highly proficient combatant .

Dr. Payne was first introduced to the concept of Kyusho-jitsu in the early 1990's. At that time he had already been training devotedly in the fighting arts for nearly 8 years. Therefore, when an old Ryukyu Kempo ("Ancient Okinwan Fist Method") master looked at him and said, now I am going to show you REAL karate," he was more than ready to being translating the "blocks," "punches" and "kicks" which he had labored to perfect into encompasitating and even potentially deadly attacks.

Dr. Payne eventually earned an instructor grade recognition in that master's school, and even traveled extensively to learn from other masters who had been training in Kyusho-jitsu for as long as he had been alive. Later, he trained intensely in the subject on his own, passing along his hard earned knowledge to his most devoted students. Then, in 2014, he was able to reconnect with two of the masters who had taught him a great deal early on. These were Grandmaster Jim Corn and Grandmaster Mark Kline.

As a result of those interactions, Dr. Payne is now a representative of Jim Corn's Kyusho Jutsu, and through it an international Ambassador for Okuden Circle, an advanced combatives association based in Germany. He is also an instructor in Grandmaster Kline's Kyusho.Expert curriculum.

While Dr. Payne has his own take on Kyusho-jitsu and while his method of teaching has its own unique flavor, he continues to look to both Grandmaster Corn and Grandmaster Kline as teachers to whose wisdom he bows in this subject. Thus, he teaches their curricula side by side, along with his own understandings taken from extensive medical research, and gives his most advanced students a treasure trove of knowledge which is difficult to find today.
